From Debuntu

Jump to: navigation, search

There is 2 ways to search for emails in Mutt.

Contents

Searching

The first one will bring you to the next message containing the the keyword either in from or subject fields.

To do so, in the mail listing view, press / and type the keyword you are looking for (for instance foobar).

This will make the cursor jump at the next email with either a subject or from field containing foobar.

To go to the next message, hit n

Limiting

Limiting the view will consist on only displaying the email matching the pattern.

To access it, you need to type l key in listing view and then enter pattern:

~f foobar | ~s foobar

If you are looking for foobar in either subject and from field.
